Isolating Spool

Can anyone throe some light on, y we use isolating spool , rather than isolating joint,

what shoul be the real basis for this spool selection and how much should be the isolating spool length

Without some real, solid information, illumination will not be forthcoming.

  • Is asking the individual that designed the installation out of the question? If so, why?

Do you mean blind flange? However, using isolating spool is to make sure 100% isolation. Other isolation methods like joints or valves might have leakage or pass from the seat so it is not 100% isolation, especially if there is hydrocarbon or dangerous materials to be isolated
