Problem Appeared after Computer Upgrade?

08/14/2012 1:04 AM

Dear Sir,

I am user of Dell Mini Tower PC (GX620). I have purchase mother board & Processor of Dell GX745 for upgrade. After installation, everything going well but i am facing only one error message during BOOT which is mention below.

Alert! Air temperature sensor not detected.

Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup utility.

I again fix GX620 mother board & Processor in my GX620 box then there is no any error like above. I checked in BIOS to disable but there is no any option available, its mean something missing or compatibility issue in others component. kindly share your experience with me to specify my problem then i will purchase specific part to resolve the problem.

Thanks

Did you purchase the BIOS separately? Did you buy from Dell or from a third party (who may have replaced the BIOS with a BIOS tailored to a different board)? If purchased new from Dell or one of their distributors, then you have a warranty period (what is warranted and for how long is specified in the paperwork accompanying the board) during which you can receive tech support from Dell free-of-charge. Have you tried this avenue? What have they told you?

Refurbished? What does one do to a mother board to refurbish it I wonder?

Back to your problem....

Gaze at every square millimeter of the board and look for jumpers and pins without jumpers. There maybe something printed onto the board around these..could give you a clue.

Have you checked all the cabling and every connector yet?

The problem is the I/O board. The board is in the front where the power button is. The air temp sensor is located on this board. If you have a 745, the I/O board must be from a 745, not a 620. There is no way to bypass this error without the correct I/O board for the motherboard.
