Bearing Number

08/30/2012 4:14 AM

At the time of maintenance work we found a damage bearing without any number. It's a needle bearing with ID: 13, OD: 30 & Depth: 62 mm. How can I calculate bearing number?

Hi bashir01219,

I don't think it's possible to work out a bearing number, but, give the dimensional details along with number and size of the needle in your bearings and I'm sure your local bearing distributor will be able to help you.

Best regards,

John

Hi bashir,

It might be, but the more information you can give a supplier the more likely he will be able to give you what you want.

Best refards,

John

May want to supply the rpm at which it operates.

They may want some estimate of the speed of the shaft and the load. -- JHF

contact timken bearing co. you'll need a digital calibre to measure the bearing.

od. id, and needle length and diameter.

if they don't have it, no one does.

good luck

Measuring the ID of a needle bearing can be difficult. Measure the shaft OD to get the bearing ID.

Bearing ID, OD, and length gets you most of the way there. Also tell them if there are any seals, operating speed and working environment. There are also different styles of needle bearings such as caged and full complement. Some do not have the outer race. If possible take the bearing to the supplier so they can match it up. If not possible then have it in font of you while on the phone so you can describe it fully and answer their questions.

In order to provide a part number you would have to know the product line of a particular manufacturer such as Torrington.

Are you sure that you have the dimensions right? 13mm id x 30mm od would be quite uncommon. maybe 30mm id x 62mm od x 13 width would be more "normal". Checking some of the size listings don't show that much spread between the id and od.

Check timken.com size listings page 139 for needle type roller bearings.......Good Luck

There are cross referance cataluge which will help in this case. If you give the dimintions of the bearing you will get several companies which produce the same size each company has its own number.

It is not possible to get the commercial unique part number from the diminssions for all manufucturers
