DG Set Selection for Motor Load

09/02/2012 1:33 PM

I have 50 HP pump and presently it running on msedcl ( utility power supply ), now I have to use DG set for back up Incase of mains failure. My query is should I select generator as per starting current of pump which is generely 5-6 times during first 2-3 cycles of voltage wave or it is sufficient as per normal current rating. Kindly give your valuable suggestion. Regards.
