Transformer Vector Group

09/22/2012 9:01 AM

How we can test the vector group of transformer. If the client wants to confirm that the vector group is Dyn11 as indicated in the transformer name plate, how it can be done?

Study this first: How to Search the Internet

Then you can find this: how to take vector group test

The following is the procedure for Vector Group Test of a Dyn11 trafo.

i) Bond terminals 1U & 2u with a 2.5 sq.mm Copper wire.

ii) Apply 3 phase 415V, 50 Hz. supply to terminals 1U-1V-1W

iii) Measure the voltages across the following:

1U-1V, 1U-2n, 1V-2n (Equation: 1U-1V = 1U-2n + 1V-2n)

1V-2v & 1V-2W (Equation: 1V-2v = 1V-2w)

1W-2v & 1W-2w (Equation: 1W-2v > 1W-2w)

With the measured voltages, confirm that the equations in the brackets are true. If so, the trafo is Dyn11.
