Dear Members,
What is the actual meaning of integrally reinforced nozzle.?
Is it only refers to forged type/hub type nozzle?
Kindly correct me in the following understanding:
"The term "reinforcement' comes (in nozzle necks) when the standard available pipe thickness is not adequate for required area replacement. Hence we increase the area by providing additional thickness by making integral hub/forged sections"
For eg.
A 24" nozzle with schedule 160 pipe as nozzle neck (59.5mm thickness) and
A 24" nozzle with 45mm hub thickness and 17.44 mm neck thickness.
Can we consider both nozzles as integrally reinforced in their own way. Apart from material and manufacturing processed etc.
Thanking you all in advance
