Salt in Jet Fuel

10/11/2012 9:09 AM

Hi Friends,

Could you tell me the effect of salt water (sea water) in Jet A1 fuel? Will this sea water affect the properties of fuel? Will it encourage microbe growth and sludge formation in aircraft fuel tanks? Any standard is there for the limit of salt (in grams) in a kg of fuel?

Kindly give me any material or paper published on the effect of salt in aviation fuels. I could not get through google search
