There are 24 possible ways of directly wiring the connector. Some of them may damage one or both of the devices connected. None of them will work.

I suggest you buy an adapter.

Looks like he may be able to look through the clear plastic cover of this model and draw his own wiring diagram.

Wait, if he gets the adapter, he won't need a diagram.

It can't be done directly. Physically the cables and connectors have a different number of conductors, electrically they use different voltage levels and signalling protocols. Good luck using an adapter, make sure the one you buy works with your devices by reading the reviews.

I should mention that not all RJ45 connectors use Ethernet protocols. A RJ45 connector on a router will likely use Ethernet protocol though.

its called a "USB Serial converter"

google for your local supplier or go online to find one! I did! BUT do not expect the speed you would get with a USB, they are kinda slow!

USB is a high speed serial port. It has a +5 VDC line, a ground and a high speed twisted pair. An RJ45 contains 4 twisted pairs. There is no possible way to connect them with a passive wiring pattern. There are translation chips that run from the USB power and convert the RJ45 signal to USB bi-directionally and they are embedded in the adaptors that several people have suggested you buy. They are quite cheap. Do some work and find one that is capable of the 100 base T speed and the correct USB I, II, or III. (USB 1, 2 and 3)

USB-III is the latest and highest speed, many older machines do not support USB-III

(also called USB-3)

I agree with other comments about non-compatability of the two network types...

But if you just want the pin-out see http://pinouts.ru/SerialPortsCables/usb_cable_pinout.shtml

I got one of these adapters when my cable company installed my router. I didn't need to use it, and most likely you know someone who didn't need to use theirs. Ask around, I bet you can get one for free.
