Looking for Deep UV LED (<300nm) of Decent Power on Order of 1W

I am looking for light source that:

- would have narrow wavelenght range that is otherwise typical for LED ( a peak with steep dropoff some 10-20 nm away) or better yet, laser diode.

- has a peak wavelenght at 300nm or less, 260-ish would be nice.

- has output power on the order of 1W if possible

- can be switched on and off in say 10ns time with off-the shelf electronics.

I have looked around and there are quite a few UV LEDs that would do the job if not for their wavelength - shortes ones come up to 365nm.

I found a few models at 280nm, but they have miniscule output power.

I am thinking about an application that would use optics from laser printer or similar, where I would drive deep UV LED to burn various patterns into substrate...

Thanks.

First link is mostly about UV photosensors, driving electronics and deuterium lamps, so I couldn't find anything useful for this app.

Second link seems to be a bulseye hit. Output power is not over 1W, but close, and things are not exactly dirt cheap, but they are kind of unique, so price seems reasonable.

This is far better than anything I managed to find so far.

It seems quite expensive. Also, they state it is operated in pulse mode and with a very low frequency ( in kHZ range), so it does not seem particularly viable at this point.

But it would still be nice to have a link to source of cheap excimer DUV lasers though ;o)

We use Sensor Electronic Tech. for high power UV LEDs, they go down to 240nm.

Another option you might want to consider is a small Mercury lamp. These Mercury UV lamps have a very strong, very narrow emission line at 254 nm. You can get these lamps with more than 1 watt of output power, and with the proper drive electronics they can be switched on/off very fast. You can place a pen lamp Hg lamp into a reflective chamber with a pinhole emission port and then use your optics to focus the light as needed.

Whichever way you go, LED or Hg lamp, be sure to use quartz or borosilicate lenses, or aluminized mirrors, for your optics. Conventional soda lime or flint glass lenses will absorb UV, as will most plastic lenses.
