Actually I want to know in the simple/commerical machine industry, like garage door, car washer, green house controller, HVAC, is 3 phase small motor widely used or not?

What people use to control the 3 phase motor<1.5kw in these application? By mini contactor or by power relay?

Are the motors <1.5 kw are normally single phase and very few are 3 phases?

Commonly single phase motors are supplied for small motors because most residential and commercial buildings have single phase available and may not have three phase. Three phase motors replace single phase motors (generally) when the motor gets too big and the single phase currents get too high.

Cost is a consideration but it is generally more important to have the right single or three phase supply available.

This is all rather general information as there are certain situations where you would use a single phase motor over a three phase motor and vise versa.
