Passivating Cooling Tower Carbon-Steel Pipelines

04/26/2013 10:28 AM

Seek guidance on best practices to passivate the inner surface of a carbon steel pipeline .The pipeline is a 7km closed loop. we have two tanks one of 50 cu m . the other 100 cu m.

What would be most economical way to do this process.

regards

Sanjay

No need. Refer to the cooling tower chemical treatment existing specialist supplier. Make the call.

You have 150 cm and 7000 meters of pipe. A good chemical treatment supplier can determine the total volume of water to be treated and the surface area needing protection, and will make specific recommendations to fit your local environment.

PW has it right. Call the supplier and give him the detail information or let him make a detailed survey to develop a program for you.

Line it with a plastic liner.
