The root portion of my Linux system requires no grinding of anything but my teeth.

Welding inside a vacuum chamber rarely involves grinding. The possibility of inducing a crack that will fail a helium leak check makes this rare.

Welding of PVC piping does not require grinding.

Putting a different plant onto a root is called grafting not welding.

Grinding maybe necessary if a pig cannot fit properly inside the pipe.

My point here is that your information in your question should be much more informative and focused on what you know you are actually doing, along with what you do not know. We do not know what you are welding as far as material or function. We do not know what quality standard (if any) you are trying to achieve in your weld.

You also should turn off your caps lock. Capitalizing all of your text is considered SHOUTING and rude.

What are you talking about?

Shell to Shell (Storage Tanks, Spheres......API650) No need. Center to center

Shell to head (Pressure vessels ASME VIII) YES. UW 31 to 33

Pipe to pipe (Pipelines API1104) YES.You can play with set off and out of roundeness

Pipe to fitting (Spools ASME B-31.3 /8......) YES. ASME B31.3 328.4.2 and .3

Others....... YES. ASME B 16.5

For inside welding you need your WPS/PQR approved with backing (Also welders WPQ)

Thats why you should employ best welding practice conform with the necessary standards alongside with properly trained welders.

Better be prepared than to rework at a higher price.

Makes live easier and you would not have to shout!
