Floating Apartment is a Green Way to Ease the Housing Crush

Posted November 17, 2010 9:34 AM

From DVICE:

Houseboats have long been a way to ease crowded housing in tightly packed cities, but most houseboats look pretty much the same as they were 100 years ago. love it... completely unrealistic... any large waves would overturn it easy. but the concept is cool, and I'm sure something could be done.

Any large waves would overturn it easily, but would you give anyone sympathy if they tried crossing, say the channel in it?

I think it would be incredibly limited to rivers and lakes.

Maybe if they made that into a dory hull, widened it and put a stern drive electric motor in that thing would be pretty cool, Would anyone else be worried having a great big telly in there though, if say it devloped a small leak... And what happens with all the waste, you cant just have a hole down to the water from the throne; think of the breeze every time you use it!
