Software and the hardware it runs on is everywhere in healthcare, from EHRs, to digital thermometers to the latest imaging and stereotactic radiation systems. Are the right controls, protocols, and quality control standards in place to ensure patient safety and critical system availability? Are there standards in existence for other industries that could be brought into healthcare that would work well?
