Thanks to a newly developed digital microscope, palynologists around the world are hoping to revolutionize climate research. The instrument helps to alleviate fatigue for scientists who are constantly viewing pollen or organic micro-fossil samples. The microscope, known as the Classifynder, uses a low-resolution stage to focus on grains that can be isolated and viewed on a high-resolution stage, eliminating less interesting portions of the sample. See this video of the new technology. Does this technology have application in your field?
