Watch As Darpa's Fire Suppression Wand Magically Extinguishes These Flames

Posted January 22, 2012 10:47 AM

From Gizmodo:

Our tools for extinguishing fire are almost as primitive as our forefathers who discovered it. Extinguishers that attempt to choke or disrupt the chemical reaction often do just as much damage, so DARPA's been working on a high-tech alternative.

The word "magically" is objectionable. Also, "Darpa" should be "DARPA".

A paid editor could fix problems like these....

I would use the word "Questionably", not "magically". It took at least four passes and the fuel for the gas flames could just as easily have been simply turned off.

Before anyone gives the company developing that wand a grant, let's see a independent testing firm give it a try.

Just my opinion, Dragon

Have Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and Factory Mutual (FM) lab test this before Billions of Taxpayer $$$$ are spent and wasted.....and see exactly how far DARPA gets with this technology.
