San Diego-based Illumina's MiSeqDx instrument, the first FDA-cleared in vitro diagnostic (IVD) next-generation sequencing system, has captured top honors in SelectScience's best new clinical products competition. To support its ground-breaking sequencing systems, Illumina also offers an ancillary product package that it claims can sequence an individual human genome for $1,000.
