Sanitation is one of the most crucial processes in food and beverage production, but it is also very time- and energy-consuming. What can automation contribute to clean-in-place (CIP) procedures in the industry? The answers, according to this report from Automation World: coordinate the process across the entire plant. This improves safety and efficiency, minimizes downtime, and helps meet new government regulations. For example, with controls in place, operators can automatically inhibit products from entering the processing line until the equipment is cleaned.
