Virtual Audits Take Off

Commercial buildings spend more than $100 billion on utility bills each year in the U.S. alone, and anywhere from 30% to 50% of that energy use is typically wasted. Building owners turn to HVAC professionals for energy audits to evaluate their current mechanical systems and make improvements, and these audits traditionally take place on site. But some firms are now offering virtual energy audits to provide a broader and more cost-effective solution. ACHR News looks at how virtual audits work. When used in conjunction with traditional audits, this methodology can offer a broader collection of data for analysis and recommended improvements.
