Hemmings Motor News Blog

Hemmings Motor News has been around since 1954. We're proud of our heritage, but we're also more than the Hemmings full of classifieds that your father subscribed to. Aside from new editorial content every month in Hemmings, we have three monthly magazines: Hemmings Muscle Machines, Hemmings Classic Car and Hemmings Sports and Exotic Car.

While our editors traverse the country to find the best content for those magazines, we find other oddities related to the old-car hobby that we really had no place for - until now. With this blog, we're giving you a behind-the-scenes look at what we see and what we do during the course of putting out some of the finest automotive magazines you'll ever read.

Which of These Four Pickups from the Fifties Would You Choose for Your Dream Garage?

At the beginning of the year we asked which pickup from the Sixties would you choose to occupy a bay in your ultimate dream garage. In our latest edition of This or That, we're revisiting the light-duty class of haulers, but from a decade prior, when ownership of said vehicles wasn't as prevalent among adventurous outdoorsmen. While trucks from the Sixties and Seventies are seeing a spike in interest, such steeds from the Fifties are also in high demand with enthusiasts, whether the half-tons are in barn find, project, restored-to-stock, or restomod configurations. Here again, we're delivering four "conventionally presented" examples to your inbox to ponder, all of which are currently available in the Hemmings classifieds.

Take a look at the 1950 Dodge B-Series, 1952 Ford F1 pickup, 1953 Chevrolet 3100 and a 1957 Studebaker Transtar deluxe pickup. Then make your selection known.
