Hemmings Motor News Blog

Hemmings Motor News has been around since 1954. We're proud of our heritage, but we're also more than the Hemmings full of classifieds that your father subscribed to. Aside from new editorial content every month in Hemmings, we have three monthly magazines: Hemmings Muscle Machines, Hemmings Classic Car and Hemmings Sports and Exotic Car.

While our editors traverse the country to find the best content for those magazines, we find other oddities related to the old-car hobby that we really had no place for - until now. With this blog, we're giving you a behind-the-scenes look at what we see and what we do during the course of putting out some of the finest automotive magazines you'll ever read.

Let's stick with the muscle car category this week's This or That window shopping exercise. We know what you're thinking: Where are the high-powered pony cars and intermediates? Well, lest we forget, in the days before those platforms had a big-blocks shoehorned in between the front fenders, thunderous, large-displacement V-8s were restricted to full-size cars.

With that in mind it's time to celebrate the forefathers of the performance industry. This time we've picked a price ceiling of $50,000 for our quartet of Sixties steeds, all of which are currently available in the Hemmings classifieds. For some of us, that prices cap put these cars firmly in the dream garage category, but that doesn't make them any less desirable. You know the drill: Which one would you take home this week?

1961 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible

1964 Chevrolet Bel Air Two-Door Sedan

1964 Chrysler 300K Hardtop Coupe

1968 Ford Galaxie 500XL Convertible
