Hemmings Motor News Blog

Hemmings Motor News has been around since 1954. We're proud of our heritage, but we're also more than the Hemmings full of classifieds that your father subscribed to. Aside from new editorial content every month in Hemmings, we have three monthly magazines: Hemmings Muscle Machines, Hemmings Classic Car and Hemmings Sports and Exotic Car.

While our editors traverse the country to find the best content for those magazines, we find other oddities related to the old-car hobby that we really had no place for - until now. With this blog, we're giving you a behind-the-scenes look at what we see and what we do during the course of putting out some of the finest automotive magazines you'll ever read.

No Other Vehicle Inspires Wanderlust and Nostalgia Quite Like a Van

For no other reason than because we want to, we're going to round up some van videos we came across this week and try not to focus too much on the hashtag vanlife thing that somehow still seems to be the dominant source of van vids on YouTube. So, for example, we'll start with this 1981 dealer film comparing the Big Three's van offerings in those hazy pre-Magic Wagon days. Who knew it was so competitive then?

Probably the only YouTuber doing a full build series on an Astro van right now is the Shredist, who spent this vid getting his AWD system in working order.

Okay, we give up, we can't do it without some hipster vanlife content. At least the paint scheme on this Bay Westy is cool.
