NASA has scrapped plans to wrap a decommissioned hangar in solar panels after a contractor deemed the project impractical. NASA had hoped the hangar would generate power for thousands of homes near Mountain View, CA (USA). Ultimately, the estimated cost of cleaning up the contaminated structure, which is contaminated with chemicals and asbestos, exceeded the estimated cost of demolishing it.
