We had news that the AstroSat satellite has produced good test images of a star field 6000 light years away. We produced the near & far U.V. UVIT detectors about 6 years ago & have been waiting for them to be integrated into the satellite. Launch was at the end of September & systems have been gradually brought on-line & tested since then.

When fully operational AstroSat will produce simultaneous images in U.V. & X-ray.
