A "Hot" Drink

12/17/2017 11:29 AM

Electrical engineers might like one of these for Christmas - a bottle in the shape of a high-voltage standoff insulator and 4 mugs, currently (pun intended) available on German eBay.

I'm positive, that's a negative.

This is pretty cool....

..." This low cost device is the perfect tool for any engineer's toolbox as it is capable of visualizing, generating, and controlling digital and analog signals. With so many other similar tools out there that can cost thousands of dollars, this multi-function instrument blows them away with its affordability. The OpenScope MZ connects to your computer via WiFi or USB for programming, which means it operates similarly to an Arduino or Raspberry Pi but with high-speed and precision digital and analog I/O. It also comes with the free open source WaveForms Live, which allows users to configure the OpenScope MZ to be an oscilloscope, function generator, logic analyzer, power supply, and even a data logger."...

This is cool for phone control of anything from anywhere....

Solar eagle, I thought about giving my 14 year old nephew a year subscription to American Scientist magazine, along with another Christmas present. How would you rate that mag ? He likes to study math and science.

While some people would like to be young again,,, I never did... with the exception of stuff like this out there readily available and affordable.

What makes this great,... as a hobby as I'm drawing to my retirement.

There seems to be a lot of potential there for a great gift.
