Space.com has provided a handy listing of when the nine major planets in our solar system will be available for viewing in 2006 and what tools you'll need to view them, and where you'll have to be.

This is pretty cool. I picked up an antique telescope from the 1940s about a year ago. I haven't used it yet, but now that I know what and when to look for various planets, it'll be more than a simple conversation piece.
