Solar Cell Retinal Implants

According to Slashdot and Science Blog, on January 25th, doctors at Rush University Medical center implanted Artificial Silicon Retina (ASR) chips under the retinas of five patients who had lost their sight due to retinitis pigmentosa. Each chip consists of ~5000 micro solar cells that convert impinging light into electrical impulses. Several of the patients are already reporting improved vision.

I wonder if it cost $6 MM ?
