Upgrade to 2008

Cosmosworks Solidworks 2006 is old, Vista is better than XP

COSMOSWorks 2008

SolidWorks 3D CAD software 2008

SolidWorks users in COSMOSFloXpress have free analysis tools for fluid flow based on Flomerics technology (which develops the full COSMOS FloWorks product). COSMOSFloWorks Updates for this release include revisions to the physical models available, including real gases, heat transfer in porous media, and using a perforated plate as an opening. Alongside the physics updates, there's been work done on automatic lid creation, healing of geometry, and an extended engineering database that now includes fans (as used in electronics) and non-Newtonian fluids like blood, honey, pasta, etc. Finally, multicore processor support has been added and is available at no extra cost, unlike many other CFD codes. CircuitWorks allows engineers to ensure electronic components such as printed circuit boards (PCBs) will fit and work correctly in their products - all within the SolidWorks. Yes well I checked out the sites and entirely was delighted that such coverage of 3d is available in this program and add-ons, some free and they do support A-CAD programming as well. If you were happy with XP and have a large HD then that is what computer system you should purchase except if all you have is a Vista and you HD is substantial and you have the USB Drive support and SD Card support then your ready for it without XP and it should be better. There are so many tweaks that XP must have that Vista nearly learns as it goes to make it easier. XP alerts you to much while Vista will simply make it work regardless and bypass the problem file. See Vista can install every DLL from programs but does not run them all and can bypass the offending ones easier, XP would crash having to have the DLL for the program your trying to run and chose to run another. Vista you can run several DLL's at the same time.[\p]

Also Vista works better with a add-on Power Supply and a LCD, I would suggest BackUPS XS 1300 which is a medium cost backup. If Vista cannot connect it will try again and search for a solution and it could be a simple cable ISP issue normally nothing big. But if you find Internet Explorer giving you problems, get the Google Browser, called Google Chrome v0.2.149.27 (available thru Google or CNET), it is so much better and has a crash protector with saving history which gets you back on the same page instantly upon restart, you get a source of paging but you cannot select all and copy/paste as you must highlight line by line the source instead and copy/paste so making your own HTM or HTML save page is easier then close the source window when done and your back at the original page. Very small footprint and faster loading. You can also get a free G-Mail account.

Interesting that AOL browser now is a free install and first install AOL Messenger after having gotten a free AOL E-Mail address so you can login to the AIM and use that to login to the AOL Browser when you install that. AOL Browser has more changes making it a much better service now than it has been when I used to run the browser as a member of AOL, I hated v6 and refused to install v6 always going for v5 instead. AOL version 9.1 browser.

So have u successfully install SolidWorks 2009? Coz in SW2009, Cosmos has it's name change to Simulation. Also from SW2008, all SolidWorks supports Vista. If you r interested in SolidWorks training, I can arrange it for u. Just call 017-585 9893, look for Dylan. :)
