Planet mapping surveyor probe missing for more than 2 weeks!
This 10 year old probe has exceeded its life expectancy by 8 years.
Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter failed to spot the probe on Monday night.
This probe gave us the first views of massive dust storms, gullies and revealed
evidence of Mars having had a magnetic field.
If the life expectancy of our technology keeps increasing dramatically, will space become cluttered with old satellites or do the they at some point reenter our atmosphere and burn up?
