Welcome boywiz,

You cannot weld aluminum to steel. Aluminum is very difficult to weld to itself, much less a dissimilar metal.

Start with the basics. Go to Wiki and get an idea about welding. Welding only works with similar metals.

Language barriers among like speaking people. I'm from US. Can't tell where you're from, but I,m guessin' it ain't Texas.

ute= utility vehicle?

checker plate=diamond plate?

Basically you can weld steel to steel(including "stainless" steels) and Al to itself.

Here, we can get Al diamond plate, so that might be an option. You might also bolt steel tabs onto the Al parts, then weld the tabs to the frame. Steel is much easier to weld than Al.

I don't know enough about the project to give meaningful help.

Just advice and opinions; take 'em for what they are worth.

Good luck.

<...ute= utility vehicle?...>

"Ute" is to Australia as "SUV" is to North America and as "Tonka Toy" is to the UK - an abbreviation for a vehicle vehicle with similar size and proportions to an American woman's derrière.
