Johns Hopkins students build model reconnaissance vehicle

A few days ago we were talking about "balloonsats" at Texas A&M. Well, three undergrads at Johns Hopkins have gone a little further and built a model airship to help engineers in the aerospace industry conduct surveillance at the outer edge of the Earth's atmosphere. The craft, a 17-foot-long helium-filled blimp with sophisticated electronics was designed as part of a two-semester course, offered by the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
