NASA Space Suits (Audio)

08/05/2005 3:55 PM

I listened to this NPR report on NASA space suits while driving in to work today. Neat stuff about the technologies involved in keeping an astronaut warm, dry, fed, comfortable and otherwise alive while working up to 8 hours in the vacuum of space. I wish my clothes had a built-in power bar to keep me nourished. The audio discussion with Ed Francis, a vice president at space-suit maker Hamilton Sundstrand, is about 5 minutes long.
