On-line newsletters provide numerous media alternatives for obtaining information from conventional articles similar to those in a print magazine to slide shows, presentations, and videos/podcasts. Each addresses the need for information differently. When you want technical information (such as on test and measurement), which medium do you prefer? Why? When do you look for a print article or conference paper? A PowerPoint presentation? When you view a PowerPoint presentation, should the author provide a 'canned' narrative, or do the slides give you enough detail to fill in the narrative yourself? How do videos fit into the mix?
The preceding article is a "sneak peek" from Test & Measurement, a newsletter from GlobalSpec. To stay up-to-date and informed on industry trends, products, and technologies, subscribe to Test & Measurement today.
