Will You Capitalize on Water Projects?

Posted November 06, 2010 7:17 AM

With the world's population booming and more of those people moving to major cities, the need for fresh water is "staggering." In construction terms, this demand will trigger a flood of whitewater and storm-water treatment projects.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's latest 20-year projection estimates a need for nearly half a trillion dollars in facilities that provide clean drinking and bathing water. This includes:

· $187.8 billion for waste-water treatment and collection systems,

· $63.6 billion for combined sewer overflow corrections, and

· $42.3 billion for storm-water management.

As an engineer or contractor, how will you take advantage of these proposed clean water construction projects?

I already took care of that issue for myself just by not living along side the other millions of idiots who insist on living where the natural resources can not support them.

If a location does not have enough natural resources to support the population that is there now then the first step to avoiding that situation would be to not move there and make it worse!

Or is this all too obvious for some people to grasp?

Harsh. Why would someone give you an off topic?

Oh, I see, the question is; "how are engineers going to jump on the gravy train of infrastructural non-planning stupidity"?

And You, Naughty Tcmtech, have suggested engineers regard the gravy train "fix", as snowballing stupidity.

It's a shame the OP can't be voted OT

So I think I'll just undo their vote.
