Rallying 'Round "Affordability"

Posted June 01, 2011 2:04 PM

Citing a general decline in R&D as well as recruitment of top talent, Velocci believes a mission or rallying call is needed. In this editorial, he makes the case for "affordability." While innovative business models that "treat affordability as an imperative" will no doubt challenge the industry, are they enough to inspire a new generation of aerospace engineers?

Yes, we engineers are always inspired by "affordability."

I think when you wrote "new generation of engineers," you meant "new generation of engineering managers."
