For the 135th and final space transportation system mission, the space shuttle Atlantis lifted into orbit on July 8 and returned on July 21, its four-person crew the smallest since 1983. While some optimists say this is the beginning of a new age of commercialized space flight, to many it really feels more like the end of an era. Why can't both groups be right?
