The Tangent Side

The science is always wittier on the Tangent Side. Here you'll find puzzles, games, and a hand-drawn webcomic aimed to reveal the humor that sometimes only a technical mind can appreciate. The Tangent Side comic was created by Doug Terhune (Juzek89) originally as a fun project/distraction amidst the rigors and long lectures of engineering college.

This one resonates with me

The quickest way to meet new people within a company is to place the break room with the coffee at the epicenter and let typical caffeine withdrawal bring everyone together

I worked for an engineering company in Denver where the coffee machines were off during working hours except for a short break morning and afternoon. The scoop, true or not was that the director who ordered this was forbidden coffee by his doctor.

BTW, this was in the late 60s.

I believe now days they have found that freely caffeinating the workers offsets the cost of the coffee.

OK, but the quickest way to KNOW them is let them do and watch their behavior around one of the last white men rituals: rising money for coffee and schedule who's brewing.

I know one thing is for sure: the coffee pot will always be 'on' in my firm for the entire work day...from 0730 to 1730 Hours and beyond, if necessary! FREE COFFEE!!!!
