World without PET

Though not on the brink of extinction, purified terephthalic acid (PTA) supplies are in position to potentially limit the feedstock for PET manufacturing. Three suppliers have been crippled by disputes and shutdowns globally. While these obstacles could hamper such end products as soda bottles, the bigger question is how the PTA crunch will affect processing.

Will potential PET customers patiently wait for restocked supplies or will they find replacement materials?

	I would say that the human ingenuity cannot wait, and materials such as PET have driven the transportation of food and liquids in a much more agressive way, which is the culprit for a lot of the air contamination. PET bottles are contaminating the waters and the earth, therefore I see a brighter world without PET.
