Actually, the Arduino line has been around since circa 2003-2004. Not sure about the others, but the Arduinos preceded the Raspberry Pi.

The combination of the 2 is best. The Arduino fills the low level hardware control (similar to a PLC...), and the Pi is an excellent user interface and higher level controller.

Thanks for bringing this out and correcting misleading (incorrect) information. One can wonder how the idea of the wrong order of introduction these two influential computers arose.
