I've often wondered why there wasn't some easy way to alter the shape of the eyeball itself to correct vision...I wear glasses, bifocal, and can correct vision with pressure applied to the corner of the eye socket, so it seems that some way of pumping up or deflating this flaccid globe could be done chemically, or even through minor surgical manipulation....but my optometrist says I am not a candidate for laser correction....so what does laser surgery actually change?
