I don't see that concept flying any time soon

Some issues with this, apart from the appalling cheap above everything else concept.

How are they going to handle small children? My daughter of 7 would have her feet dangle above the floor? Solvable, but questionable I would assume.

How about survive-ability during a crash? Packed like a can of sardines.
More people, evacuation in case of emergency, will be fun at the doors?
Overweight people, handicapped? Will they be charged extra for not having the ability to stand 1.5 hrs and using a normal seat? Autch...

I think the list can be an awfully longer, don't want to nag. It would be nice to see an article that handles that kind of questions, not just "hey look, another idea".
