There are those who claim that Uber and Lyft are 'stealing' riders from the public transit systems and actually making traffic congestion worse.

On the subject of electric vehicles, I find them paradoxical. The general idea is that electric vehicles are environmentally friendly because they don't burn fossil fuels. However, most electricity is produced from fossil fuels or nuclear. In the charging of electric vehicles there are considerable electrical losses through tranmission and heat. As a result the is an actual increase in the electrical demand requiring burning of fossil fuels and or more fissionable material.

I would prefer to see a dramatic increase in vehicles utilizing hydrogen fuel cell technology.
