A comment on "This means that it may be possible to regulate blood pressure with a pill". I noted as a medical student in the 1960s that blood pressure could be regulated by various pills, so the idea is hardly a novelty. It is possible that this latest medication confers advantages, but that has yet to be proven.

As for "rather than by increasing exercise and reducing sodium intake.", this merely encourages the idea that it is OK to continue to continue with an unhealthy lifestyle as long as one demands the right pills from the doctor.

Now if gamma-hydroxybutyrate were to be promoted as the life-enhancing drug rather than beta-hydroxybutyrate... Oh wait, isn't it known to be life-enhancing already?
