Granted this article is short, but has missing or misleading information. First off, it only takes an hour to charge a Tesla if you want to get your batteries close to 100%. A 70-80% charge takes less than 15 minutes. Second, the time to charge is of less concern than the time for a gas fill up. Because you don't need to babysit the process. Unlike gas, you plug it in and leave. Go eat, take care of business. After 2-4 hours on the road, getting out of the car is welcome. And plugging in the car is not smelly or dangerous.

Second, type one (DC) charging stations already have buffer batteries.

Range anxiety for EV's is only an issue on long road trips because we haven't set up charging stations everywhere yet. Electricity is practically everywhere. They will only need to be set up on major highways though, because most charging is done at home. Once EV's become dominant, gas cars will have range anxiety, and it will be very real.
