Sleppy: No special tool is needed. A generic pair of wire strippers will do.

Electronics360: What are the electrical contacts or end connector surfaces like?

Sleppy: We are using stranded wire on leads for our prototypes. Final products will have tinned leads.

Well, it seems to me that some sort of coaxial connector would be needed/available. Why is the connection to both anode and cathode not addressed? A generic pair of wire strippers won't prepare the sheath for connecting (or will it?). Don't just leave me wondering if this was considered or not.

Dennis,

That is a great question! Yes, it was considered. The CBC was designed to avoid needing special tools and/or connectors. This helps the CBC be embedded inside DC power cords (cable based capacitor banks to complement batteries) and to be applied to electronic circuits to support miniaturization goals!
