I wonder when they will lean towards adsorption technology, and perfect it.It's a green solution. And it is quiet.Great for CHP,waste heat recovery, etc.

Check it out: https://www.esmagazine.com/ext/resources/ES/Home/Files/PDF/0911ECO-MAX_WP.pdf

Pros:

• It is a robust technology with no risk of crystallization, no danger of damage due to temperatures.

• The materials used today (zeolite, silica gel) are environmentally friendly

• Very low intrinsic electricity consumption due to the lack of a pump. Electricity is only required for the switching valves and the control unit.

• Very little moving parts with the potential of low maintenance effort and costs.

• High potential of cost reduction in series production due to the small amount of

individual parts.

Drawbacks are:

-High requirements to the vacuum tightness of the container.

-Slightly lower COP than for comparable absorption technology

-Cyclic temperature variation in the hydraulic circuits requires careful design of the

external hydraulic circuits

-Commercially available machines are expensive and only some suppliers are on

the market.

-Have large volume and weight relative to traditional mechanical heat pump systems.

-----------------------

It's a technology that's been around for over a hundred years but didn't take off

as mechanical pump tech with cfc's became the focus.Old tech is getting a 2nd

look in a lot of areas lately.Who knows?
