No mention about false positives. Trying the 'tune' the 'sensitivity' of algorithms like this is very tricky. A high probability of detection in the presence of incomplete information, i.e. the camera field of view only has a partial image of the weapon, is likely to result in more false positives.

Maybe a machine analysis of human behaviors might be a better indicator of bad intent.
