I don't know why they would target homeowners as users of this product. Many of us have no direct carbon emissions at home, and indirect emissions (eg from products made elsewhere) are often larger than direct carbon sources at home. The big direct CO2 emission for individual consumers is in transportation. If they would design a module that attaches to your vehicle and captures the carbon, that would be worthwhile. Otherwise it would make more sense to scale up and market this to large emitters such as electricity providers, who would be producing the 'biodegradable plastic' at a useful scale for industry to use it.
