The new bridge doesn't look much sturdier than the one it is replacing.

A maximum span of 55m compared to the original 210m and a steel deck rather than a concrete one. How many more changes do you want to make it "look" sturdier?

What impresses me most is the short timescale between the collapse and the replacement being designed, constructed and starting to be erected. In the UK we would by now only be half way through a four year long public enquiry to find out why the original failed.
