Electronics360: "Design factors for implementing commercial PoE on 28 AWG and 26 AWG stranded patch cable"

In a 10 year career with a local light rail company, I installed over 2500 CCTV cameras, all which used POE. I found the super light, 28g flexible jumpers would often make the circuit fail. Using 24G was always a winner for this application. I also switched over to 22G main line Cat6, and could run a camera at 500+ feet. The power load was helped enormously and the data load was not huge for a camera.
